Nyundo School in talent search for new students

THE RWANDA SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS and Music, formerly known as Nyundo School of Music is launching a countrywide talent search for music and arts students to join the Muhanga-based school with an aim to promote and professionalise the art and music industry in Rwanda.

According to a communique released by the school, the talent search will kick off on September 14, in Rubavu District at Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle, and progress to other cities including Musanze, Kayonza among others.

The countrywide talent search will conclude on September 18, in Kigali City at Maison des Jeunes, Kimisagara, the statement added.

Criteria for selecting the best students, according to Jacque Muligande, director of the school, will be based on one’s talent in singing, knowledge on some cultural and modern musical instruments, passion and having completed nine year basic education, among others.

Selected candidates will be admitted to the school in the academic year of 2022-2023 to kick off on September 26.

Rwanda School of Creative Arts and Music, formerly known as Nyundo School of Music was established in 2014 to promote and professionalise music and art industry in Rwanda.

Starting with just 30 students in 2014, the school has now grown to 161 students currently. It has graduated close to 200 students so far including renowned artistes such as Igor Mabano, Ariel Wayz, Makemba, to mention a few.

With 20 instructors, the school offers a variety of skills including; vocal music, the use of instruments such as drums, piano, guitar, wind instruments, percussion, and local instruments.
