APR FC put their CAF Champions League disappointment behind them with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Etincelles FC at Umuganda Stadium on Saturday.

The reigning champions broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time through Ivorian striker William Togui, who found the back of the net in the 45+3rd minute.

APR continued to dominate after the break and sealed the victory in the 68th minute when Yunusu Nshimirimana doubled their lead to ensure the military side collected all three points.

The victory maintained APR’s perfect start to the season, having won both of their opening two matches.

At Kigali Pele Stadium, Al Hilal bounced back from last week’s 3-0 defeat to Marines FC with a 2-0 victory over Gasogi United.

After a closely contested first half, Babe Diarra broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute to put the Sudanese side ahead before Mohamed Yousif added a second in the 72nd minute to seal the win.

The result offered Al Hilal a timely response following their defeat to Marines, as they returned to winning ways with a disciplined performance against Gasogi United.

Elsewhere, Musanze FC produced one of the round’s standout performances, securing a 3-1 away victory over Amagaju FC.

The visitors proved clinical in front of goal and composed throughout the encounter, earning a deserved win to maintain their impressive run of form.

Meanwhile, Etoile de l’Est and Gorilla FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Ngoma.

Seiri Arigumaho put the hosts ahead in the 18th minute, but Thierry Ishimwe restored parity in the 72nd minute to earn Gorilla FC a share of the points.
