President Paul Kagame has urged new and serving leaders to regularly assess their performance, reminding them that their responsibilities are not just about them but the people they serve.
He made the remarks on Friday, October 30, while presiding over the swearing-in of four leaders appointed to new positions following a Cabinet meeting held earlier this week.

Those who took oath include Julienne Uwacu, the new Minister of Public Service and Labour; Judith Uwizeye, who was appointed senator; Claudette Mukashyaka, the new Auditor General; and Gratien Kubwimana, the new Deputy Auditor General.
"What the country expects of you is clear; there is no need to repeat it,” Kagame told the new leaders, adding that leadership is about the people being led, not just those in leadership positions.
He emphasised the need for leaders to examine themselves, assess their past performance and recognise the level of effort required in the coming period to do better.
