Marine FC stunned Al Hilal SC 3-0, while Al Merrikh SC edged Police FC 1-0 in rescheduled BK Pro League fixtures played on Wednesday, October 28.

At Stade Umuganda, Marine delivered a commanding performance to inflict Al Hilal’s heaviest defeat since the Sudanese club joined Rwanda’s top-flight league in 2025.

The hosts took the lead in the 15th minute when Al Hilal defender Rawa Mohammed inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a dangerous delivery.

Marine maintained their dominance after the breakthrough, controlling possession and creating better scoring opportunities against an Al Hilal side that struggled to respond.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 67th minute through Amani Rutayisire before Ramadhan Niyibizi sealed the emphatic victory with a stoppage-time strike in the third minute of added time.

The win lifted Marine to the top of the standings with 11 points.

In the other rescheduled fixture, Al Merrikh claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Police FC in a match postponed because of the Sudanese side’s involvement in continental competitions.

Police started brightly and nearly scored inside two minutes, but Keffa Tangara’s effort narrowly missed the target after goalkeeper Mohamed Alnour struggled to handle the ball.

Al Merrikh responded through Ibrahima Traore and Teya Tutu, who tested Police goalkeeper David Chimezie in quick succession. However, neither side could find the breakthrough before halftime.

The visitors gained momentum after introducing substitute Fenohasina Gilles Razafimano, whose effort struck the post in the 64th minute.

The forward made the decisive impact in the 83rd minute, rising highest to head home an Enock Morrison corner and give Al Merrikh the lead.

Police pushed for a late equaliser, but Asman Ndikumana headed narrowly wide from a free kick in stoppage time.

The defeat extended Police’s struggles for consistency, while Al Merrikh secured three valuable points to strengthen their position in the race near the top of the BK Pro League table.
