Sudanese champions Al-Hilal SC will renew their quest for continental glory after being drawn against Egyptian heavyweights Pyramids FC, Guinea's Horoya AC and Morocco's MAS Fès in Group D of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.
The draw was conducted on Wednesday, October 28, at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters in Cairo.
Group D is expected to be one of the most competitive pools, with Pyramids entering the tournament as one of the continent's favourites following their breakthrough CAF Champions League triumph in the 2024/25 season.
Al-Hilal, who qualified for the group stage after eliminating Ethiopia’s Sudan’a Bunna, will also be hoping to make a deep run past last season’s quarterfinals where they were knocked out by Moroccan side RS Berkane.
The group stage campaign will kick off from November 27-29, with teams playing six rounds of matches before the quarterfinalists are decided in January.
Elsewhere, record African champions Zamalek headline Group B, where they will face Tanzania's Young Africans, Algeria's MC Alger and Tunisia's Club Africain.
RS Berkane have also been drawn in a challenging Group C alongside Tanzanian giants Simba SC, South Africa's Orlando Pirates and Cameroon's Colombe Sportive.
Four-time African champions Espérance de Tunis lead Group A, which also includes Angola's Petro Atlético and Wiliete SC, as well as Mauritania's FC Nouadhibou.
The group stage will commence on November 27 and close on January 24, 2027.
