Senegalese point guard Jean-Jacques Boissy has joined Tanzanian side Dar City ahead of the East Division Elite 16 of the Road to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2027.

Dar City secured direct qualification for the Elite 16, scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 17 to 22.

The Tanzanian club will be aiming to secure a place in the 2027 BAL season and will be banking on Boissy’s wealth of experience in the continental competition to boost its chances of qualification.

The former Rwanda Energy Group (REG) guard was named BAL Most Valuable Player after leading Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli to the 2025 championship.

Boissy also had a stint with the NBA G League’s Windy City Bulls before joining Al Ahly Benghazi for the 2026 BAL season.
