Sudan's Al Hilal SC booked their place in the CAF Champions' League group stage

Sudan's Al Hilal SC booked their place in the CAF Champions' League group stage after defeating Ethiopia's Sidama Bunna FC 2-0 at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Sunday, completing a dominant 4-0 aggregate victory.

Holding a comfortable 2-0 advantage from the first leg in Ethiopia, Al Hilal approached the return fixture with confidence and control. The Sudanese giants dictated possession and created the better chances throughout the game.

Their pressure paid off in the 33rd minute when Erneste Luzolo found the back of the net,

extending their aggregate advantage to 3-0.

The hosts doubled their lead just before halftime through Mohamed Abdelrahman Yousif Yagub, who struck in stoppage time (45+5') to effectively end any hopes of a Sidama Bunna comeback.

The second half saw Al Hilal manage the game professionally, maintaining their defensive organisation and limiting the Ethiopian side to few clear-cut opportunities.

The final whistle confirmed a deserved 2-0 victory on the day and a comprehensive 4-0 aggregate triumph.

Al Hilal's qualification is also good news for Rwandan football.

With the club continuing to host its home CAF fixtures at Amahoro Stadium, Kigali will once again welcome Champions League group-stage football, offering local fans the opportunity to watch some of Africa's top clubs and players in action.

Having completed the qualifiers with two wins, four goals scored and none conceded, Al Hilal now head into the group stage looking to better last season’s performance where they were knocked out of the quarterfinals by RS Berkane.
