Rwandan comedian, actor and playwright Diogène Ntarindwa, popularly known as Atome, will stage his one-man show Carte d’Identité at the Kigali Convention Centre on Saturday, November 7.
The performance marks Ntarindwa’s return to the local stage following a series of international engagements. The evening will also feature a presentation by emerging artists and a post-performance question-and-answer session with the audience.
Ntarindwa has built a career spanning acting, writing, directing and comedy, with his work exploring themes of memory, identity and contemporary society.
His international credits include Milo Rau’s theatre production Hate Radio and films such as The African Doctor and Neptune Frost.
Carte d’Identité, which translates to "Identity Card”, will take centre stage during the event, accompanied by activities designed to encourage conversations about artistic practice, creative expression and legacy.
The programme will also feature Legacy Diaries, a work in progress by Ntarindwa to be presented by emerging artists. The presentation will be followed by Legacy Talks, an interactive question-and-answer session giving audience members an opportunity to engage directly with the artist.
The initiative aims to provide a platform for emerging talent to showcase their work while allowing audiences to connect with Ntarindwa’s artistic journey and reflect on his contribution to the creative industry.
Tickets are available at Rwf 25,000 for standard admission, with seating allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. A special ticket priced at Rwf 50,000 offers reserved seating for supporters and admirers of Ntarindwa’s work and the arts.
