The eight-week competition will see participants live together in a specially designed house, competing to protect their personal secrets while attempting to uncover those of their fellow housemates.
Her participation marks another appearance by a Rwandan on the continental reality show, following singer France Mpundu, who represented the country in the second season in 2025 and finished fourth.
Who is Christelle Kabagire?
Kabagire is a familiar face in Rwanda's entertainment industry, particularly through her work with the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA), where she made a name for herself as a television presenter.
She previously presented In Style, a fashion-focused television programme, and worked on The Jam, an entertainment show broadcast on Rwanda Television.
Her journey into the entertainment industry began during her university years in Uganda, where she studied journalism at Cavendish University and was crowned Miss Cavendish University.
The beauty pageant opened doors for her in modelling, advertising and television, eventually shaping her interest in both journalism and fashion.
After completing her studies, she returned to Rwanda to pursue a broadcasting career. She briefly worked at Contact FM before joining RBA, where she established herself as a television presenter.
Beyond broadcasting, Kabagire has participated in fashion events in countries including Uganda, Namibia and Zambia, building experience in modelling and fashion presentation.
About Secret Story Afrique?
Secret Story Afrique is a French-language reality television show adapted from the French television franchise Secret Story. The African version was launched in June 2024, bringing together contestants from French-speaking countries across the continent.
The competition takes place in the Maison des Secrets (House of Secrets), where contestants live together under continuous camera surveillance, with limited contact with the outside world.
Each contestant enters the house with a secret that they must protect while trying to discover those of other participants.
Throughout the competition, contestants participate in challenges, form alliances and face nominations for eviction. Viewers also play a role by voting to save their favourite participants.
The third season, which kicked off on October 17, features 20 contestants from 16 countries competing over eight weeks for a grand prize of CFA 20 million.
The programme airs on CANAL+ Magic, with daily episodes and Saturday evening live shows.
Kabagire's participation comes a year after Rwandan singer France Mpundu attracted attention during the show's second season in 2025.
Mpundu became the first Rwandan to participate in the competition and progressed to the grand finale, eventually finishing fourth.
Her time on the show attracted attention beyond the competition, particularly following her romantic relationship with fellow contestant Moctar Mamadou from Niger.
