Former APR FC midfielder Jean-Bosco Ruboneka has completed his move to Libyan Premier League side Al-Tahaddi Sporting Club Benghazi.

The Rwanda international joins the Libyan club after six memorable seasons with APR, where he established himself as one of the team’s most dependable performers and an influential figure in midfield.

Ruboneka joined APR from AS Muhanga in 2019 and quickly developed into a key player, earning praise for his composure on the ball, tactical intelligence and ability to dictate the tempo of matches.

The 27-year-old became a free agent at the end of the season after his contract with the army side expired.

Times Sport understands that APR offered Ruboneka a new contract, but the midfielder turned down the proposal after the two parties failed to reach an agreement, particularly over salary terms.

His move to Libya marks a significant new chapter in Ruboneka’s career as he looks to take on a fresh challenge outside Rwanda.

Al-Tahaddi, one of Libya’s historic football clubs, will hope the midfielder’s experience, creativity and technical ability can add quality and stability to their midfield ahead of the new season.
