September bows out this weekend with Rwanda’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying opener against Liberia leading the calendar. Away from the pitch, Kigali and Rubavu have live music, film, comedy and golf on offer.

Rwanda vs. Liberia
Rwanda’s Amavubi open their Group K campaign in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia at Amahoro National Stadium in Kigali on Friday, September 25, at 6 p.m.
Tickets start at Rwf2,000.
Rwanda Open 2026
The Rwanda Open runs through Sunday, September 27, at Kigali Golf Resort & Villas in Nyarutarama.
The four-day professional tournament is sanctioned by the Sunshine Tour and has a listed prize fund of $135,000.

Animation Night at The Cauldron
CasaKeza will screen two short films by Senegalese filmmaker Djibril Diop Mambéty, Le Franc and La Petite Vendeuse du Soleil, on Friday, September 25, at 7 p.m.
Both films will have English subtitles, followed by a discussion in Kinyarwanda. Entry is free.
Taste of Rwanda
Taste of Rwanda returns Saturday, September 26, with a five-course dinner at The Nest Kigali from 7 to 9 p.m. Each course draws on Rwandan ingredients, cooking techniques or food traditions and presents them in a contemporary setting.
Tickets, which are consumable, cost Rwf40,000 for a single seat, Rwf148,000 for a group of four and Rwf216,000 for a group of six.
Gakondo Iganze
Indashyikirwa will host Gakondo Iganze at Kigali Universe on Saturday, September 26, from 6 p.m.The monthly event celebrates traditional Rwandan music and dance and takes place on the last Saturday of each month.
Regular tickets cost Rwf10,000; VIP tickets cost Rwf20,000, while a table for eight costs Rwf200,000.
Experience 003
Experience 003 will take place at Zaria Court on Saturday, September 26, from 4 p.m., featuring a performance by Kent Larkin. Organisers say proceeds from orders placed during the event will support school lunches for children for one semester.
Entry is free.
Comedy at Smallville Hotel
Four comedians, Babu Joe, Muhinde, Joseph Ishimwe and Pirate, will perform at Smallville Hotel in Gisenyi, Rubavu, on Saturday, Sept. 26, starting at 6 p.m. Ishimwe Joseph will host the show.
Regular tickets cost Rwf5,000, while VIP tickets cost Rwf7,000.
All Disciples Gathering 2026
The All Disciples Gathering 2026 will bring worship, fellowship and preaching to Evangelical Restoration Church Masoro's Shekinah Hall on Sunday, September 27, starting at 3 p.m.
The gathering will feature Apostle Yoshua and Senior Pastor Lydia Masasu.
