APR Women’s Volleyball Club are reportedly set to welcome back middle blocker Kellia Umutoni after a year away from competitive volleyball.

Umutoni took a temporary break from the sport following the birth of her child and is now expected to return to the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.

APR are also close to securing the services of former Kepler outside hitter Angélique Tuyishime.

Should Tuyishime’s move to APR go through, she could be deployed as a libero as the club looks to address the gap left by first-choice libero Yvonne Umugwaneza, who is currently sidelined by injury.

A source close to APR WVC told Times Sport that both players have already joined the squad’s training sessions ahead of the new season, which is expected to begin on October 16.

Umutoni was part of the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) team that won the league title in 2023.

The middle blocker also represented Rwanda at the 2019 FIVB U20 World Championship.

Tuyishime, meanwhile, was included in the preliminary squad for the 2026 African Women’s Nations Volleyball Championship in Kenya but did not make the final team.
