Gisubizo Ministry brought gospel music lovers together at Camp Kigali on September 13 for the seventh edition of its annual Worship Legacy concert, featuring performances from some of Rwanda’s leading gospel and contemporary music artistes.

The annual concert has grown into a major evening of worship for the ministry and an opportunity for the choir to reconnect with its audience.

Singer Christophe Ngoga opened the concert with performances of songs including Untware, Ndabyemeye and Izagufasha, setting the tone for an evening of worship and music.

Gisubizo Ministry then took the stage with some of its popular songs, including Ibisigaye Izabikora and Ntidufite Gutinya.

The audience remained on their feet throughout the performance, singing and dancing along with the choir.

The atmosphere grew even more vibrant when the ministry performed Ntayindi Mana, prompting the crowd to jump and dance alongside the choir.

Apostle Mignone Kabera also addressed the worshippers, delivering a sermon during the concert.

The seventh edition featured several collaborations, including songs that were performed and recorded for the first time on the night.

Gospel singer Israel Mbonyi joined Gisubizo Ministry on stage to record their yet-to-be-released collaboration, while singer couple René Patrick and Tracy Agasaro also performed and recorded a new song with the choir.

The Ben later joined the ministry for their collaborative song Nabaye Umwe n’Imana, drawing an enthusiastic response from the audience.

The concert concluded on a high note with a powerful rendition of Ebenezer, during which members of the choir moved into the audience and sang alongside the crowd.

‘We really thank God for the favour’

Conseille Muramira, the leader and director of Gisubizo Ministry, described the concert as a success, saying the turnout and audience response exceeded their expectations.

"The event was so wonderful. We never expected what happened. We really thank God for the favour,” he said.

Muramira said this year’s edition differed from previous concerts, particularly in the way the programme was structured.

Previous editions featured several invited artistes, leaving the choir with less time on stage. This year, however, Gisubizo Ministry was given a larger share of the programme to perform for its audience.

Founded in 2004 in Gikondo, Gisubizo Ministry has since expanded beyond Rwanda, with 35 branches across Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States.

The Worship Legacy concert was launched in 2018 at Christian Life Assembly in Nyarutarama. It has since become an annual gathering for worshippers, with the September 13 event marking its seventh edition.
