Gicumbi FC climbed to the top of the BK Pro League standings after securing a vital 1-0 victory against Amagaju FC at Gicumbi Stadium on Saturday.

The Northern Province side claimed all three points thanks to an early strike from Steven Hakizimana, whose eighth-minute goal proved enough to seal the win and maintain perfect start to the campaign.

Elsewhere, Etincelles FC also registered an important away victory after Gedeon Ndoga scored the solitary goal in the 36th minute to hand his side a hard-fought 1-0 win over Gorilla FC at Kigali Stadium.

At Ngoma Stadium, Etoile de l'Est and Kigali FC shared the spoils following a goalless draw in a closely contested encounter.

The results leave Gicumbi FC at the summit of the league table after two rounds, while Etincelles strengthened their position among the early pace setters.

The BK Pro League continues next week with clubs aiming to build momentum before the competition enters its first international break.
