SKOL Brewery Ltd has donated uniforms to 110 professional community security personnel (Irondo) in Kanyinya Sector, Nyarugenge District, in a bid to support them in executing their duties more professionally.

The handover took place during a ceremony concluding a training program the security personnel had recently completed.

Among the challenges faced by professional patrol members is the rapid wear and tear of their footwear, largely due to working both day and night shifts alongside frequent physical training exercises. To address this, each patrol member was equipped with a complete uniform comprising boots, a hat, a shirt, and a pair of trousers.

The Executive Secretary of Kanyinya Sector, Alfred Nduwayezu, emphasized the necessity of the new uniforms. He noted that the previous gear was severely worn out, which negatively impacted the personnel's appearance and diminished the respect associated with their responsibilities.

"They have all been equipped with new clothes," Nduwayezu said. "The uniforms they were working in were so worn out that they did not reflect the dignity of a security patrol member. This support will help them look presentable on duty, ensuring they command respect from the public as they carry out their responsibilities."

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support, stating that it serves as a strong morale booster that will drive them to perform their duties more effectively and professionally.

Khassim Sinzinkayo, one of the recipients, said the new uniforms would motivate them to step up their efforts and improve their daily operations.

"Many things are going to change in the work we do. For instance, the uniforms we used to wear were outdated. Now, we are going to work with more dedication and passion, tighten security, and fight against drug abuse," he said.

Contributing to the country's development and security is a key indicator of the strong partnership between the private sector and government institutions. SKOL stated that this donation was driven by the excellent relationship and collaboration the company shares with Kanyinya Sector, prompting their decision to actively support local security initiatives.

Eric Gilson, the General Manager of SKOL Brewery Ltd, remarked: "We thank the local leadership for the security we enjoy and the excellent collaboration between us, which allows us to operate without hindrance. This enables our operations to expand so that we can, in turn, support our partners, the community we operate in, and Rwandans in general."

During the event, the community security personnel were reminded that their primary responsibility remains staying close to the citizens and ensuring their safety.
