The concert will take place a day after the 21st Kwita Izina Gorilla Naming Ceremony, where 22 baby gorillas will be named in Kinigi, Musanze District.
Media personality Lucky Nzeyimana will serve as the show’s MC.
Rema, one of Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats artistes, is internationally known for songs including "Calm Down,” "Soundgasm,” "Are You There?” and "Charm.”
His "Calm Down” remix featuring Selena Gomez became the first song led by an African artiste to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
He returns to the Rwandan capital with a fresh repertoire of hit songs, including "TEA,” "FUN” and "Ozeba,” among others.
The Kwita Izina Concert forms part of the wider Kwita Izina celebrations, Rwanda’s annual gorilla naming ceremony inspired by the traditional Rwandan practice of naming children.
The 21st edition of Kwita Izina will be held on September 4 under the theme, "Conservation is Life: Sustaining the Future.”
Kwita Izina has been held annually since 2005 and has so far named 438 mountain gorillas.
The event has grown into a major conservation and tourism gathering, attracting conservationists, global leaders, celebrities, tourism stakeholders and visitors from around the world.
