SC Kiyovu will look to start their 2026/27 BK Pro League campaign on a winning note when they face Gorilla FC at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Saturday at 7PM.

The fixture, originally scheduled for Friday, was moved to Saturday due to international matches at the venue.

The match will officially usher in a new era for the top-flight competition following its sponsorship agreement with Bank of Kigali.

Kiyovu head into the encounter with confidence after edging Police FC 1-0 to win the FERWAFA Super Cup and will hope to carry that momentum into their league campaign.

New head coach Mark Harrison, however, warned his players against dwelling on their recent success.

"Winning the Super Cup was a good way to begin the season, but it is now behind us. The players understand that the league is a different challenge,” Harrison said.

"We have to approach every game with the same determination and discipline. Gorilla are a good team and we expect a tough match, but our objective is to start the campaign with three points.”

Gorilla FC coach Alain Kirasa said his team is ready to compete against one of the league’s traditional powerhouses.

"The opening match is always important because it sets the tone for the season. We respect Kiyovu and their recent achievements, but we have prepared well and we are going there to compete,” Kirasa said.

Elsewhere, Amagaju FC host Etoile de l’Est at Kamena Stadium, while Etincelles FC face Sunrise FC at Umuganda Stadium on Saturday, both at 3PM.

On Sunday, Marines FC host AS Kigali at Umuganda Stadium at 3PM, while Mukura VS welcome Gasogi United at Kamena Stadium.

The weekend concludes on Monday when Police FC face Gicumbi FC at Kigali Pelé Stadium at 3PM.
