Rwamuhizi returns to a familiar REG side, having last played for the club in 2022 when they won the national league title.

His return adds depth to REG’s outside-hitting department, where he will compete alongside Nicholas Matui and Merci Gisubizo.

Rwamuhizi’s experience with the club makes him a valuable addition to coach Benon Mugisha’s squad as the reigning champions prepare to defend their title when the new season gets underway on October 16.

His arrival also gives Mugisha greater flexibility in rotating his outside hitters, providing another option to complement Matui, who is expected to remain one of the coach’s first-choice players.

Rwamuhizi becomes REG’s latest signing, after Jean Baptiste Tuyizere who also returned to the club this offseason. The duo is expected to fill the voids left by Bienvenue Rukundo, Fabrice Kabano and former captain Kavalo Akumuntu, who left the club at the end of the season.
