Rwandan forward Noam Emeran has officially parted ways with Dutch Eredivisie side FC Groningen after three years at the club.

Emeran, who recently pledged his international future to Rwanda, joined Groningen in 2023 after leaving Manchester United, where he progressed through the club’s youth ranks.

His time in the Netherlands was, however, disrupted by a series of injuries that limited his playing opportunities and prevented him from establishing himself in Groningen’s first team.

After spending another season on loan at FC Emmen, Groningen and Emeran agreed to terminate his contract.

"FC Groningen has reached an agreement with Noam Emeran to terminate his contract. Noam, thank you for your contribution to the team, and we wish you success in the next chapter of your career,” the club said on its social media platforms.

The 23-year-old received his maiden Rwanda call-up in May and could be included in the Amavubi squad for the upcoming September 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.

Emeran is now looking for a fresh start as he seeks regular playing time and an opportunity to revive his career.

Reports suggest he could make a permanent move to FC Emmen, where he previously enjoyed more opportunities during his loan spell.
