Free agent Cedrick Ngaboyintwari is reportedly set to return to APR VC after spending two seasons with Gisagara VC.

The 27-year-old setter recently parted ways with Gisagara following a three-month suspension for misconduct.

A reliable source told Times Sport that the military side is increasingly interested in bringing Ngaboyintwari back for a second spell.

Ngaboyintwari began his professional career with APR in 2018 after joining the club straight from secondary school. He spent seven years with the military side before moving to Gisagara VC in 2024.

His potential return would see him compete for the starting setter role alongside first-choice setter Paul Akan.

If the deal goes through, Ngaboyintwari could become APR’s latest signing of the offseason. The club has already signed opposite hitter Wicklif Dusenge and libero Saduru Manzi on two-year contracts.

Ngaboyintwari would bring considerable experience to the squad. During his first spell at APR, he won two Rwanda Volleyball League titles, in the 2019/20 and 2023/24 seasons.

During his two seasons with Gisagara VC, he added two more trophies to his collection: the 2025 Kayumba Memorial Tournament and the 2026 BK Arena Tournament.
