Four Rwandans have graduated from the Military and Air Force Academies of the National Defence University of Turkiye.

Arnauld Byiringiro, Prince Cyizere, Daniel Mbanzabugabo and Robert Mugabe were commissioned on Sunday, August 30, in Ankara, during the National Defence University Military Academies Graduation and Change of Colours Ceremony, which was presided over by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

They graduated with the rank of Second Lieutenants.

The ceremony was held at the Turkish Military Academy and brought together newly commissioned officers from Türkiye’s military academies, alongside senior Turkish and foreign officials.

Erdoğan addressed the newly commissioned officers and presented diplomas to the top graduates, while other senior officials presented diplomas to the remaining officers.

The Rwandan Ambassador to Türkiye, Charles Kayonga, and Defence Attaché Col Jean Paul Rulisa, attended the ceremony.

The National Defence University is Türkiye’s institution for higher military education and officer training, bringing together academies serving the country’s Army, Navy and Air Force.
