Kigali is closing out August with a packed weekend of music, culture and family entertainment, headlined by Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz, who takes the stage at BK Arena Parking on Saturday.
From Friday, August 28, to Sunday, August 30, the capital will host a diverse line-up featuring regional music, traditional Rwandan culture, hip-hop, gospel, nightlife and family activities.

Here are some of the events to check out this weekend.
Diamond Platnumz Experience
The weekend’s biggest music event takes place at BK Arena Parking on Saturday, with Diamond Platnumz headlining a star-studded line-up that includes Bruce Melodie, Ish Kevin and Nel Ngabo, alongside Ugandan singer Etania and DJ Marnaud.
The event starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday and runs into the early hours of Sunday. It is strictly for those aged 18 and above, with tickets starting at Rwf30,000.
30 Years of Ambassadors of Christ Choir
Ambassadors of Christ Choir will celebrate 30 years of ministry with an anniversary concert at BK Arena on Sunday.
The concert runs from 6 to 11 p.m., with tickets ranging from Rwf5,000 to Rwf50,000.

East Africa Connect – Summer Edition 3
The weekend kicks off on Friday with East Africa Connect at Atelier du Vin, bringing together artists, DJs and promoters from across the region.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., with tickets priced at Rwf10,000 for early birds, Rwf15,000 at the door, Rwf25,000 for VIP and Rwf300,000 for a table of six.
Soul and RnB Sensation, 2nd Edition
Kōzo Kigali hosts the second edition of Soul and RnB Sensation on Saturday, featuring DJs Kadir, Nickolas Penks and June, alongside Uganda’s DJ Krista and Selector Copain.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to midnight, with tickets ranging from Rwf12,500 to Rwf25,000.
Sonoria by Boukuru
Mundi will host Boukuru’s recurring Sonoriaconcert series on Saturday from 1:57 p.m. to 8:59 p.m.
Regular tickets cost Rwf15,000, while VIP entry is Rwf25,000.
I Am Hip Hop Festival 2026 – Regional Edition
The Francophone Cultural Centre of Rwanda will host the two-day public celebration of the I Am Hip Hop Festival 2026 on Friday and Saturday.
The event will bring together more than 30 artists from Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi, with tickets ranging from Rwf5,000 to Rwf25,000.

Gakondo Iganze
Traditional Rwandan music and dance will take centre stage at Atelier du Vin on Saturday during Gakondo Iganze, organised by Indashyikirwa.
The Igitaramo runs from 6 to 11 p.m., with tickets costing Rwf10,000 for regular entry, Rwf20,000 for VIP and Rwf200,000 for a table of eight.
Kigali Style Exchange
The inaugural Kigali Style Exchange runs from August 28 to 30 at Kigali Universe.
The three-day fashion and lifestyle pop-up will bring together local designers, vintage and thrift vendors and conscious consumers, with a focus on fashion, urban culture, innovation and local creative businesses.
Entrance costs Rwf1,000.
Bye Bye Vacances Part II
Families looking to make the most of the final days of the school holidays can head to Kigali Universe for Bye Bye Vacance Part II.
Running from Friday to Sunday, the event offers unlimited arcade games, meals and entertainment for children and parents. The Fun Pass costs Rwf10,000.
Gratias Deus II Concert
The weekend will close with Groupe des Jeunes Christus Regnat’s Gratias Deus II Concert at Be Inn Hotel Kigali in Nyarugunga on Sunday.
Running from 6 to 10 p.m., the concert promises an evening of choral harmonies and relaxing performances. Tickets range from Rwf5,000 for Bronze to Rwf15,000 for Gold, while a High Table for six costs Rwf150,000 and includes a Rwf20,000 consumable allowance.
