Rayon Sports WFC boosted their CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Eritrea’s Denden WFC at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Sunday.
The Rwandan champions dominated from the opening whistle and were rewarded with two quick goals. Regine Ihirwe opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Jeanette Ukwinkunda doubled the advantage just four minutes later.

Rayon continued to control proceedings and created several chances to extend their lead in both halves, while Denden struggled to cope with the hosts’ attacking pressure.
Evelyne Mizero Ishimwe completed the scoring in the 90th minute, calmly finishing from Emerance Niyonshuti’s brilliant cross to seal a comfortable victory for Clause Rwaka’s side.
The win takes Rayon Sports to four points from two matches. They opened their campaign with a goalless draw against Zanzibar’s Mafunzo WFC on Friday.
In the other Group A fixture on Sunday, Yei Joint Stars WFC maintained their perfect start with a 1-0 victory over Mafunzo in the early match at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
Yei, who defeated Denden 3-0 in their opening match, moved to six points and remain top of the group. Rayon Sports are second with four points, followed by Mafunzo on one point, while Denden remain without a point.
The final Group A matches will be played on Tuesday, with Rayon Sports taking on Yei Joint Stars in a decisive clash, while Mafunzo face Denden.
The CECAFA qualifiers run until August 31 in Kigali, with the tournament winner earning the region’s ticket to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
