Kigali’s Soul & R&B Sessions is set to return for its second edition on August 28, bringing together four Kigali-based selectors and a Ugandan guest DJ as organisers seek to give the event a regional outlook.

The music event, which will take place at Kozo Kigali, will feature DJ Kadir, DJ June, Nicholas Peks, Selector Copain and DJ Krysta from Uganda.

Organisers say DJ Krysta’s participation is part of an effort to connect Kigali’s DJs with talent from across the region while giving local audiences exposure to different interpretations of Soul, R&B and Neo-Soul.

The event was first held at Atelier du Vin in November 2025, featuring DJ Kadir, DJ RY, Nicholas Peks and Selector Copain.

DJ Kadir, who returns as a founding resident, is among three selectors from the inaugural edition making a comeback. Nicholas Peks and Selector Copain will also return, while DJ June joins the lineup for the first time.

According to the organisers, the second edition is designed around a mix of classic and contemporary Soul and R&B, with the selectors expected to move between older sounds, current R&B and Neo-Soul.

"Soul & RnB Sessions was created to celebrate timeless music and provide a sophisticated platform where people can connect through great sounds and memorable experiences,” said DJ Kan, founder and host of the event.

The inclusion of DJ Krysta from Uganda is expected to add a cross-border dimension to the event, as the organisers seek to build the sessions beyond a Kigali-based music experience.

Co-hosted by Kozo Kigali, Ruff Cuts Djz and SL Entertainment Ltd, Soul & RnB Sessions is an annual music experience focused on Soul, R&B and Neo-Soul, while also providing a platform for local and regional DJ talent.

Doors will open at 6pm while tickets are being sold through the Sinc Events ticketing platform.
