August 27: Semi-inal fixtures
Kiyovu Sports vs Mukura VS&L — 3:00 p.m.
Rayon Sports vs Police FC — 6:30 pm
APR FC have maintained their decision to withdraw from the 2026 Super Cup after rejecting the competition's expanded four-team format, according to the Rwanda football governing body, FERWAFA.
The Super Cup, traditionally the curtain-raiser for the new league season, will feature Rayon Sports, Kiyovu Sports, Police FC and Mukura VS&L, who were drafted in to replace APR FC.
APR FC had objected to FERWAFA's decision to expand the competition from its traditional two-team format, involving the league champions and Peace Cup winners, to four teams based on last season's BK Pro League standings.
The army side claimed that FERWAFA had not consulted the participating clubs before making the change.
FERWAFA, however, said it had held several consultations with all concerned clubs, including APR FC, before deciding to retain the expanded format for the 2026 edition.
Under the new format, the competition will consist of two semi-finals followed by a final.
APR FC had qualified automatically after winning both the 2025/26 BK Pro League title and the Peace Cup, but the club informed the federation that it would not participate under the current arrangement.
As a result, Mukura VS&L, who finished fifth in the 2025/26 BK Pro League standings, have been drafted into the tournament to complete the four-team line-up.
The semi-finals will be played at Kigali Pele Stadium on August 27. Kiyovu Sports will face Mukura VS&L at 3:00 p.m., before Rayon Sports take on Police FC at 6:30 p.m.
The final and trophy presentation ceremony are scheduled for August 30 at the same venue, with kick-off set for 3:00 p.m.
FERWAFA also revealed that all participating clubs will receive participation fees, while the prize money for both the winners and runners-up has been increased.
