Results of the 2025/26 Primary Leaving Examinations PLE) and Ordinary Level (O-Level) national examinations will be released on Thursday, August 20, the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) said.

The results will be announced at 2pm and streamed live on the YouTube channels of the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) and NESA.

A total of 277,452 candidates sat the PLE, which were administered from July 7 to 9. Girls accounted for 55.6 per cent of the candidates.

The candidates sat five subjects: Mathematics, Kinyarwanda, English, Science and Elementary Technology, and Social and Religious Studies.

The number of PLE candidates increased by more than 56,000 compared with those who sat the 2024/25 examinations.

Meanwhile, 149,533 candidates were registered for the O-Level national examinations, which were administered from July 15 to 24.

The O-Level examinations were administered alongside the Advanced Level (A-Level) national exams. Up to 108,722 candidates were registered for A-Level national exams. The date for the release of the A-Level exam results has yet to be announced.
