British sixth seed Daphne Lovdahl reached her first girls’ singles final on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J60 circuit in Kigali, setting up a title clash with unseeded French prospect Artemis Anastasiadis on Saturday at the RP Kigali Ecology Tennis Club.

Lovdahl booked her place in the final after defeating Moldova’s Natalia Drobca 6-2, 6-4 in Friday’s semifinal.

Drobca entered the last-four clash in impressive form after knocking out second seed Milana Kolesova in the quarterfinals, but Lovdahl proved too strong as she continued her run towards a maiden junior title.

Anastasiadis, meanwhile, secured her place in the final with a convincing 6-4, 6-0 victory over Zambia’s third seed Kuzivaishe Chapepa in the other semifinal.

In the boys’ singles draw, Namibia’s top seed Israel Dowie advanced to the final after Kenya’s Zayyan Virani retired due to injury following the opening set of their semifinal.

Virani’s retirement ended his bid to defend the title he won during the first week of the Kigali tournament.

Dowie will face Czech Republic second seed Nicolas Moravec in the final. Moravec earned his place in the title decider after defeating Israel’s Yonatan Shagas 7-5, 7-5 in the other semifinal.
