A total of 146 Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) officers on Tuesday, August 12, completed a seven-week Military Police training conducted at Rwanda Military Academy Gako in partnership with the Qatar Armed Forces.

The graduation ceremony was presided over by the RDF Chief of Defence Staff Gen Mubarakh Muganga. Also present were Qatar’s Ambassador to Rwanda, Mansoor Ali Al-Hajri, senior Qatari military officials, as well as RDF generals and senior officers.
The seven-week course covered key areas of Military Police operations, including VIP protection, counter-terrorism, combat in built-up areas and anti-riot operations.

Muganga congratulated the graduates on completing the training and urged them to put the skills acquired into practice.
He said the training had strengthened the professionalism and operational capabilities of the RDF Military Police, urging the graduates to "apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the courses and to share them with their colleagues in their respective formations.”
Muganga commended the graduates for their commitment, discipline, and hard work in acquiring knowledge and skills needed to effectively perform their duties.
He also recognised the Qatari instructors for their professionalism and the way they delivered the training.
Muganga emphasized that the graduation was another milestone in the growing military cooperation between Rwanda and Qatar.
He stressed the importance of continued collaboration between the two forces and reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening the partnership through military training, professional exchanges and other areas of mutual interest.
A representative of the Qatar Armed Forces thanked the RDF leadership for its support and facilitation throughout the training, while commending the cooperation between the two forces.
The representative said the partnership had contributed to the successful completion of the Military Police courses.
