Rwandan champions APR FC have been drawn against Democratic Republic of Congo side Aigles du Congo in the first preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.

The first leg will be played in Kinshasa between October 16 and 18, with the return fixture is scheduled for Kigali between October 23 and 25.

APR FC will be looking to overcome the Congolese outfit and move one step closer to reaching the group stage of Africa's premier club competition.

If they advance, they will face the winner between Djibouti's AS Port and Egyptian giants Zamalek SC in the second qualifying round.

The draw offers APR FC another opportunity to push for a ticket to the group stage which they haven’t reached before.

Last season, the club was eliminated from the second round by Egyptian powerhouse Pyramids.
