Al Hilal 4-0 KVZ FC
Rayon Sports 1-0 Tusker
Togolese midfielder Antonio Kossivi Atisso Kodjo scored the only goal of the match as Rayon Sports edged Kenya's Tusker FC 1-0 in a crucial Group C clash at the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup.
The victory strengthened the Blues' hopes of reaching the semifinals.
Atisso broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, capping a dominant opening half by the Rwandan giants. His strike ultimately proved enough to separate the two sides at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
Rayon Sports controlled possession for much of the contest, patiently building from the back and moving the ball confidently through midfield.
Their composed approach allowed them to dictate the tempo and create several promising chances, although a lack of clinical finishing prevented them from adding to their lead.
The closest they came to a second goal was in the 58th minute when Elie Tatou Iradukunda rattled the woodwork, leaving Tusker relieved to remain in the contest.
Despite that lifeline, the Kenyan champions struggled to sustain any attacking momentum and rarely threatened the Rayon Sports defence.
Tusker relied on aggressive pressing and quick counterattacks, but the Blues remained well organised and composed in possession. The Kenyan side failed to create any clear-cut opportunities or seriously test the Rayon goalkeeper.
The win moves Rayon Sports onto six points in Group C, level with Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman, setting up a potentially decisive showdown between the two sides for top spot in the group.
Al Hilal cruise past KVZ
Earlier on Wednesday, Al Hilal Omdurman underlined their title credentials with a commanding 4-0 victory over Zanzibar's KVZ FC.
The Sudanese giants made a flying start, with Mohamed Abdelrahman opening the scoring after just five minutes.
Their dominance continued throughout the first half, and Ahmed M'Bareck doubled the lead in the 29th minute to give Al Hilal a comfortable advantage heading into the break.
Al Hilal remained in complete control after halftime, pinning KVZ deep inside their own half while limiting the Zanzibar side to few meaningful attacks.
Their persistence paid off late in the match as Samura added a third goal in the 80th minute before Akire completed the rout in stoppage time.
The emphatic victory was Al Hilal's second successive win of the tournament, following their 2-0 triumph over Tusker FC in the opening round.
Attention now turns to the eagerly anticipated clash between Al Hilal and Rayon Sports, with both sides level on six points and battling for top spot in Group C.
