Rayon Sports youngster Daniel Muhoza has described his dream debut for the club as a promising start to his career but insists he still has a long way to go before reaching the highest level of the game.

The 18-year-old forward made an immediate impact after coming on as a second-half substitute, scoring Rayon Sports’ second goal in a 2-0 victory over Zanzibar’s KVZ SC in their Group C match at the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup at Amahoro Stadium on Sunday.

Muhoza’s performance against the Zanzibar side impressed many, including head coach Francis Haringingo, but the youngster remained humble and focused on improving his game.

"It is a great start, but I have to keep improving every day,” Muhoza said after the match. "Scoring is important and it makes me happy, but what matters most is helping the club win games.”

"This is a very important competition for me, and I am happy to score on my debut,” he added. "I am grateful to the coach for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to play. I want to keep working hard and make sure I do not disappoint him.”

The victory gave Rayon Sports a strong start to their CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign. The Blues return to action on Wednesday against Tusker FC, while Al Hilal SC will face KVZ SC.
