Rayon Sports have signed a renewable five-and-a-half-year partnership agreement with Bank of Kigali (BK), which becomes the club's platinum sponsor in a deal worth Rwf1 billion annually.

The agreement, which runs until the end of the 2030/31 season, will see BK's logo appear on the front of the shirts worn by both the Rayon Sports men's and women's teams.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony on Friday, Rayon Sports president Abdallah Murenzi said the club deliberately sought a long-term partnership with BK because of the bank&039;s long-standing reputation and its historical connection with Rwandans.

"Rayon Sports has existed for 52 years. The club was founded in Nyanza, in the Southern Province, but today the Rayon Sports family has grown across every district and province in Rwanda," Murenzi said.

"We realized that this large community needs quality banking services. That inspired our decision to approach Bank of Kigali and build this partnership, and today we are delighted to officially unveil it to the public."

BK Chief Digital and Retail Officer Desire Rumanyika said the agreement took time to finalise because both parties wanted to ensure every detail was carefully addressed to lay the foundation for a successful long-term partnership.

"We are confident that we will achieve the goals we have set for the next five and a half years," Rumanyika said.

"This partnership goes beyond sponsorship. It is about supporting the development of Rayon Sports while creating opportunities that connect football with business. We want to create value not only for BK and the club, but also for the players, the management and, most importantly, the supporters."

As part of the agreement, BK will launch a membership product known as the "Gikundiro Card," allowing Rayon Sports supporters to make everyday purchases while directly contributing to the club&039;s revenue.

"Every time a supporter uses the card to make a purchase, Rayon Sports will receive a percentage of that transaction," Rumanyika explained.

The partnership makes BK the third major sponsor secured by Rayon Sports this year.

Earlier, the club renewed its long-standing relationship with Skol Brewery, which shifted from Platinum Sponsor to Gold Sponsor under a one-year agreement.

In February, Rayon Sports also signed a five-year agreement with Tanzanian company Jayrutty Investment East Africa Co. Ltd, making the firm the club's official kit supplier and online membership solutions partner.
