As schools close for the long holiday, Fitnesspoint has introduced its first-ever Summer Camp aimed at keeping children active, engaged, and learning throughout the break.
The camp, running from July 10 to August 16 at the gym’s Remera branch, seeks to provide a safe and enriching environment where children can develop new skills, build confidence, and socialise under the theme "Learn, Train, Grow, and Have Fun.”
The programme welcomes children aged 4 to 16 years and operates daily from 8am to 4pm, offering a full schedule of educational and recreational activities.

Led by coach Hadri Sebanani, the camp features a wide range of activities, including karate, chess, swimming, team-building exercises, and other interactive games. Each day begins with stretching and flexibility sessions to prepare participants physically before engaging in the day’s activities.
According to Sebanani, the initiative was created to provide children with a meaningful alternative to spending the school holiday indoors, where many often spend excessive time on screens with limited opportunities for personal development.
"The idea behind this camp came from a passion to create an environment where children can learn discipline while adapting to different situations,” Sebanani said.
"We want them to discover their talents, improve their thinking abilities, and become more confident in facing challenges they may encounter as they grow.”

Sebanani noted that every activity has been carefully selected to contribute to children’s development beyond physical fitness.
"When a child plays chess, they learn concentration and strategic thinking because they have to plan their next move. Karate teaches discipline, self-control, and respect, helping them become better individuals,” he explained.
Sebanani also encouraged parents to enroll their children, saying that structured holiday programmes provide far greater benefits than leaving children idle at home.
"Allowing children to spend the entire holiday at home does little to help them grow. Here [at Fitnesspoint’s Summer Camp], they have an opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, socialise, and enjoy a healthy environment while having fun,” he said.
Participants will be provided with soft drinks throughout the day, while parents are encouraged to pack lunch for their children. The coach explained that the decision was made to accommodate the different dietary needs of every child.
"Every child has different nutritional requirements. Some may have health conditions or dietary restrictions. Rather than serving the same meal to everyone, we believe it is safer for parents to prepare lunch according to their children’s needs,” he said.
"As the programme grows in future editions, we hope to introduce meal services that cater to those individual requirements.”
At the conclusion of the camp, every participant will receive a certificate of attendance, while outstanding performers will also be recognised with special awards, according to the organisation.
Registration for the inaugural Fitnesspoint Summer Camp is currently ongoing at the reception desk of Fitnesspoint’s Remera branch.
