Burundian midfielder Richard Ndayishimiye has penned an emotional farewell message to Rayon Sports after announcing his departure after a two-year spell with the club.
The 26-year-old announced his departure on Friday, July 10, through a heartfelt message on his social media platforms, expressing gratitude to the club's management, technical staff, teammates and supporters for their unwavering support during his time with the Blues.
"The time has come to thank the management, coaching staff, players and the entire Rayon Sports family who supported me during the two years I was with the team," Ndayishimiye wrote.
"I truly enjoyed being part of the squad. Writing these words is not easy, but we all know that this is the nature of football."
The midfielder also paid tribute to the club's passionate supporters, thanking them for standing by him throughout his stay.
"To the fans, I love you and I am deeply grateful for the support you showed me throughout my journey at Rayon Sports. I wish you all the best in the season ahead. We are Gikundiro."
Ndayishimiye joined Rayon Sports from Muhazi United in 2024 and quickly established himself as a key figure in midfield, becoming one of the club's most consistent performers over the past two seasons.
His contract expired at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, with Rayon Sports opting not to offer him a new deal.
