Rwanda international goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari is set to join newly promoted South African side Kruger United following a challenging debut season at Kaizer Chiefs.

The 26-year-old is expected to complete a loan move to the top-flight newcomers as Chiefs seek to secure regular playing time for the goalkeeper after he slipped down the club’s pecking order.

Ntwari joined the Soweto giants from TS Galaxy last season but struggled to establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Injuries, competition for places and changes within the squad limited his opportunities during the campaign.

Before moving abroad, Ntwari featured for APR FC, Marines FC and AS Kigali in the BK Pro League, where his performances earned him a move to South Africa and a regular place with the Rwanda national team.

Chiefs have since bolstered their goalkeeping department with the arrival of Renaldo Leaner, further reducing Ntwari’s chances of featuring regularly.

Kruger United, who recently secured promotion to South Africa’s top division, are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of their maiden Betway Premiership campaign.
