Al Hilal SC and Al Merrikh SC will continue competing in Rwanda’s BK Pro League during the 2026/27 season after the competition’s new calendar confirmed the retention of an 18-team format.

Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) announced that the upcoming campaign will consist of 34 match days, securing the participation of the two Sudanese powerhouses for another season in Rwanda’s topflight.

Al Hilal and Al Merrikh were admitted into the Rwandan league last season after football activities in Sudan were affected by the ongoing conflict, a situation that forced several clubs to seek temporary competitive alternatives abroad.

Al Hilal finished top of the table with 70 points, APR FC finished second with 59 points, while Al Merrikh secured third place with 58 points.
