AS Kigali retains Rwanda Women Football League title

AS Kigali women football club have retained the 2017 National Women Football League title following a resounding 4-0 win over Nyagatare WFC in a Match Day 16 encounter played at FERWAFA pitch on Sunday.

The National women giants AS Kigali retained the national women’s football league title unbeaten in ten matches to amass 30 points, having scored 64 goals and conceded only three goals. AS Kigali WFC, the record 9th consecutive time champions will be crowned champions on Sunday, September 17 when they face Rambura WFC at Stade de Kigali in Nyamirambo. The City of Kigali sponsored side will climax their season on September 24 when they host ES Mutunda in a game which was initially meant to be played last month but had to be postponed because the latter’s players were in Uganda for the FEASSA Competitions. Their closest rival ES Mutunda WFC have 22 points with two matches left to the end of the season while Rambura WFC are placed third with 19 points. Kamonyi WFC are fourth with 17 points in ten matches played; Inyemera WFC are ranked fifth with 17 points in twelve matches but have an inferior goal (-3);

Bugesera WFC are sixth with 13 points in twelve matches while Gakenke WFC and Nyagatare WFC are ranked seventh and eighth with five point and one point respectively.
