The national Under-18 and Under-U20 women’s handball teams face their Ugandan counterparts for final berths at the ongoing Africa Zone V Junior and Youth Handball Championships in Zanzibar.

By press time Friday, the exact starting time for both games was yet to be determined, but they will be played at Migombani Stadium.

In the Under-18 Youth category, Rwanda reached the last four after finishing second in Group A while their Under-20 junior compatriots progressed to semi-finals with first runners-up spot in Group B.

Speaking to Saturday Sport in a telephone interview from Zanzibar, the junior team’s head coach Sylvestre Mudaharishema said that his ladies were in upbeat mood and looked forward to doing their best to prevail against Uganda.

Winners of the U20 tournament will automatically qualify for the 2019 Inter-continental Championship which is due later this year.
