Volleyball: UTB teams again dominate Heroes Cup

University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) volleyball teams have retained their Heroes Cup titles after dominating this year’s edition, which concluded Saturday at Amahoro Stadium.

The two versity sides were also last year’s winners of the annual tournament, which is organised to mark the National Heroes Day on February 1.

The men’s team recaptured the title after beating Rwanda Energy Group in four sets (3-1); 25-20 25-19 14-25 and 25-22 in the final, while their female counterparts outplayed APR in straight sets 26-24, 25-16 and 28-26.

With their triumphant performances, the UTB teams each also pocketed Rwf 300,000 in cash prize, while runners-up received Rwf 200,000.
