The 7th edition of the annual Taekwondo National Championship will run from December 26-28 at Amahoro Stadium.
The three-day competition will have youth, junior and senior (in both men and women’s categories) competitions as well as a Para-taekwondo competition, which is designed for fighters with physical disabilities.
Speaking to Sunday Sport yesterday, Rwanda Taekwondo Federation President Placide Bagabo revealed that this year’s edition will attract a record 20 teams.
“We have started preparations early for the 2018 championship, it’s going to attract more teams and more players than ever before. It is from the best performers that we will select players who will represent the country in international competitions next year,” said Bagabo.
Last year, Dream Fighters from Kimironko claimed the title, followed by Gatenga-based Dream Taekwondo while Unity Taekwondo finished in third position.
