MARCEL Lomami insists that his Gasogi United side can still progress to Peace Cup semi-finals despite trailing AS Kigali 2-1 going in their quarter-finals second leg on Saturday.

The game kicks-off 3pm, at Mumena Stadium.

Speaking to Saturday Sport, Lomami admitted: “We know it is not going to be easy but we are ready and determined to make it to the last four.”

He added’ “It is unfortunate that we didn’t manage to get at least a draw in the first leg but that is how football works. Sometimes you play and your opponent wins.”

Gasogi, who reached the quarter-finals after easing past fellow second division side Rwamagana City, just need a 1-0 win or any victory by two-goal margin to storm into the last four for a historic first time.

In Wednesday’s first-leg, Jean Baptiste Rugamba put Gasogi ahead in the first-half but two-time winners AS Kigali fought back to win the game 2-1, thanks to second-half goals from Bogard Cyitegetse and Latif Bishira.

Elsewhere on Saturday, a draw will be enough to send the 2015 winners, Police, to the semi-finals when they host Etincelles at Kigali Stadium following their comfortable 2-0 away win on Wednesday
