APR vs Mukura
Afterlifting the 2018 Peace Cup trophy last month, Mukura VS coach Francis Haringingo will be looking to add a second trophy in the cabinet when the Huye-based side take on APR in the Super Cup clash at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu District, October 6.
The black-and-yellow outfit will go into the game eyeing to stun another giant to the title (Peace Cup) after beating Rayon Sports to win their first major title in 26 years.
Speaking to Times Sport yesterday, Mukura’s Burundian tactician Haringingo hinted that his side will treat the game as a precursor to the new season, which tentatively gets underway on October 19.
“We shall treat this game as an indicator of what is going to happen during the season. Our aim is to win the match and accumulate more trophies,” said Haringingo.
“The winning mentality must be inculcated in our team. To win titles, you have to be consistent and perform well against big teams,” he added.
On their opponents, Haringingo believes they have equally good players but feels his players have more motivation and hunger for trophies than their APR counterparts.
“APR are good a team and with quality players too, expect a good game. However, we played well against them last season and the target is to pick-up from where we left off.”

The game pits league champions and Peace Cup winners.
APR claimed the 2017/18 league title with 66 points, five ahead of runners-up AS Kigali.
The military side climaxed the season having won 19 matches, drawn 9 and lost 2 – scoring 51 goals and only conceding 15 goals in 30 league matches.
On other side, their opponents in the Super Cup contest, Mukura, beat Rayon Sport 3-1 in penalty shoot-outs to win the 2018 edition of the annual Peace Cup title.
Rayon Sports FC won last year’s Super Cup edition after defeating APR Fc 2-0.
