Cricket league: Telugu face Right Guards for final berth

Defending champions Telugu Royals take on Right Guards for a slot to this year’s Unimoni national cricket premier league final at Gahanga Oval – starting at 9:30am.

The winner will meet Challengers in the final.

Speaking to Sunday Sport, Telugu skipper Shiva Samba said that, “The game is very important as we aim for the third title. We know the Right Guards are a good team who have a blend of experienced and youth players, with quality allrounders, but we are ready for the challenge.” 

Ahead of the much anticipated clash between the two sides, Right Guards and Telugu Royals have 8 points each but the latter have a better net run rate.

In the second division, Titans will be up against Spartans as both teams seek maximum points to move up places in the table. Going into Sunday’s clash, Titans are fourth with 8 points while Spartans are in sixth position with four points.

Batsman Didier Ndikubwimana, Julius Mbaraga and Parfait Mugisha will lead the Titans’ charge for a victory.
