The 2018 edition of the annual Inter-School Swimming Competition has attracted a record 90 swimmers, Saturday Sport has learnt.
The one-day event takes place on Saturday at Green Hills Academy in Kigali.
It will attract fourteen schools namely; Riviera High School, ISKL, KICS, Ecole Belge, Ecole Francaise, Earth School, ACORNS, Well Spring Academy, Little Germs, Excella, Kigali Parents, Kigali Christian School, Brook Stead and the hosts Green Hills.
“Given that it’s a holiday period, the competition level is going to be high,” said Isaie Kwizera, the technical director at Rwanda Swimming Federation (RSF).
The competition categories are; breaststroke 50m, freestyle 50m for all age categories (8-10, 11-13, and 14-18) and mixed relay for school teams.
Each school is required to have a four-member (two boys and two girls) team for the mixed relay category.
Riviera High School dominated the tournament’s fourth edition last year to win the title.
