Adults as well as children need healthy foods that make a part ofa balanced diet. Those of you who have been in boarding school have surely missed all the nicely cooked and tasty food at home.

Since you are on holiday, this is the right time for every child to eat to its fullest. There are different types of foods in a balanced diet, namely: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and roughage.

When these foods are well cooked and eaten, many diseases can be prevented. In addition, children should not forget to have good table manners.

Talking with food in your mouth and putting more food in your mouth before swallowing, are examples of bad table manners. Before and after eating food, washing hands is also very important.

When children learn good table manners, they will avoid future embarrassment while on a table with visitors or in public places like restaurants.

Parents should instill healthy eating and proper table manners in their children at an early age.
