Teens welcome back from school, the long holidays are finally here! I hope you passed well and were promoted to another level! If you did not pass, there is no need to despair and do not let failure pull you down, just turn that negative feelings into positive and put in more effort. If you study hard, there is no doubt that you will make it next year.

Now that the holidays are here, what are you going to do with it? Have you planed how you are going to spend it? One of the most enjoyed leisure activities for teens is surfing the internet and watching movies. While at school, most of teens missed their favourite soaps while others are starving to watch movies and music videos—most cannot wait to get their hands on the remote control!

However, before you insert a DVD in the player or change a TV channel, you must know about the things you watch! Not every movie available is good for your consumption. Pay special attention to the kind of movies you watch; for example, over the years, many experts have concluded that viewing movies with lots of violence can be dangerous for teenagers and children alike.

Teenagers who watch violent movies on a regular basis get exposed to images that can eventually lead to de-sensitization. While you surely have an understanding of right and wrong, you may think it is okay to use physical force to hurt another human being.

Nevertheless, often time’s teens do not realize the effects that movies may have on them. Some teens try to mimic their favourite characters because they wish they could change the way they look to match the music and movie stars they admire. As a result, they suffer from a low sense of worth.

Another issue that comes with watching movies for longer hours is that teens can find themselves battling with overweight and obesity.

Obesity is strongly linked to inactivity among teens that usually comes with spending too much time in front of the TV.

So this holiday whatever you do, choose carefully the kind movies you should watch and also limit yourself; it is unhealthy to watch movies or TV from morning to evening.
