Are you the type that lets circumstances or other people make decisions for you? Permitting other people to determine the kind of life you live?
It is important to be reminded that sometimes the people you entrust with making your decisions may have selfish interests to serve, therefore your desires or goals may get compromised hence make you settle for less. It is obvious that not everybody understands you or has your plight at heart, so it is only you, who can do things best for yourself because you understand yourself more than anyone else.
Taking charge of your own fate, does not only give you a sense of control but also improves your level of self-respect and therefore you become inspired to take on more crucial life decisions, this in the long run delivers you on a consistent line of progress.
Bob Marley once said, “Every man has got right to decide his own destiny”. So you are the driver of your own life, choose what you want in life and learn that, not every decision you make in life, produces the results you want or expect; sometimes things don’t turn out the way you want. Therefore you must learn to accept the outcome of every decision made (bad or good) and learn from mistakes if any are made.
One shouldn’t be afraid of making decisions even when they seemingly have dire effects, as it is only through risk that great opportunities are uncovered. In case the decision turns out to be wrong, it helps you notice your mistake and helps to improve your situation in the long run. Other than running away from your problems or challenges face them and be a problem solver.
It is also useless predicting or worrying about the future, instead fold your sleeves and get involved in determining it. This is the only thing that will give you a sense of security and command.
The reason why most us are reluctant to make crucial personal decisions is because we think we don’t have the capability, but if one sat back quietly and started examining the decisions they have made before, they would be amazed to find that most of them were successful. So sometimes it’s important to remind ourselves of previous decisions we made that worked out, as this is what motivates us to make more.
Independent decision making can only be achieved through trusting oneself; your opinions, capabilities, talents, conscience so on and so forth.
Life is yours to live; live it the best way you can.
