Sometimes I believe mankind is his own worst enemy. We have degenerated into the worst species even animals, are in some cases a stunning improvement.
I know some would say that this is a rather disrespectful way to put it; but what could be more disrespectful than power hungry despotic rulers who make their pay-day hacking and maiming millions of innocent men, women and children?
What could be more disgusting than so-called freedom fighters and `holy war` mongers who strap jackets packed with explosives on themselves and go on to blow up buildings, planes and trains full of, I might add again, innocent people.
What could be more maddening than super power countries going to hell and back to impose their rule on weaker nations so as to secure for themselves huge oil reserves, as if the owners of that oil won`t be needing it when hard times come knocking.
The world is still reeling from the shock that was Iraq and big bad Saddam! Oh, I nearly forgot to mention weapons of mass destruction, which of course were never found.
The African continent is almost on its knees because of some rulers who are on the verge of insanity. Maniacs who will stop at nothing to cling to power while destroying their countries` economies.
People, let`s face it; the world is in the midst of a leadership crisis. Bad leadership is fast crippling economies and bringing to ruin what countless people have bled to build.
Because of bad leadership the human race is increasingly becoming confused and unsure of their destiny. We are way in over our heads in the mess we have created.
The leaders are confused, and the people they lead are none the wiser. The hypocrisy of some of the world`s leaders is quite appalling. Now the African Union is constantly wasting precious time attempting to find a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis.
A serious African leader would be tell Gaddafi to pack his blood stained bags and get lost.
Anyway, if everyone in a position of leadership understood the meaning of true leadership, the world would be a better place.
Governments would develop their countries better, business entities would realise bigger returns, and families would be more united and better bred.
Even places of worship would be in a better position to deliver much needed spiritual nourishment to their followers, and the young would have a good example to follow.
The question we must ask ourselves now is; who is a leader? Is it someone in a position of authority or occupies a certain big office? Is it that fellow walking about bellowing out gut wrenching orders to the factory workers?
Well, next time if you are patient enough to stomach my `naive young man`s` rants, we will see what true leadership is all about.
