A couple of days ago as I was crossing the road going to the Union trade center-building (UTC), a stunning lady walked by, wearing a dark blue skirt with a yellow shirt and a little red belt.

I was impressed with the way she had blended the bright colors and wondered if it was the current trend. Searching for more information, I found out that the tendency of wearing bright colors is called the color block.

At the beginning of this year, the color block was hitting runways all over the world. Top designers like Gucci, Zara, Marc Jacobs and Dior all displayed the color block on the runway.

The color block does not apply to clothes only but also shoes, handbags and other accessories. Shoe designer company Diego Dolcini has made some really cute color blocked shoes that any woman who understands fashion will really appreciate.

Some women have gone as far as color blocking the manicure and pedicure. They paint their nails with two or more colors of nail polish.

Singer Rihanna is a huge fan of this trend and has been spotted on the red carpet wearing colors bright enough to make the sun look dim.

Being a “hot” trend right now, color blocking is appreciated by everyone especially people in the lime light.

Rwandan Ladies have also picked up on this stylish trend. So many ladies added bright colors to their wardrobe.

Their preference goes with mixing bright colors and a touch of classic ones. For example, they can wear a black skirt or trouser with a purple shirt and a red belt or a colored suit with a white shirt.

The best thing about the color block is that it works with different personalities and different life styles. Students enjoy color blocking as well as professionals.

They say it brings warmth and cheerfulness. It’s fantastic for those mornings when you wake up feeling on top of the world.

So it’s not fashion only but also a psychological trend. Don’t be afraid to experiment it. You’ll never know how great it is if you do not try it yourself.

However, don’t wear warm colors or cold colors at the same time. Yellow and red or blue and green doesn’t really work out.

Instead you could mix warm colors with colds ones like green and yellow or red and blue.

A bright pink bag, a pair of yellow shoes, a vivid blue bangle or an eye-popping orange belt is all you need to leave a couple of heads turning in awe.

If anyone looks at you in a manner that displeases you, do not be alarmed for they are simply trying to figure out your fashion sense and will eventually catch up.

The most appreciated accessory is the golden belt often seen during Gucci spring collection runways. It gives a flashy yet sophisticated look and can be worn on any kind of color block.

Since the weather is becoming warm, your wardrobe should be too. Be creative and hit the color block.
