Over ten years ago I used to work in Mombassa and lived in a place called Nyali. This was and still is an up market estate. It is here that I first saw furniture being made out of bamboo. I was so impressed by the designs and ordered a shoe rack. This rack served me for more than five years before I gave it out to a friend when I was leaving the country to come back home.
